| It’s
the 20th July, 1969 and in a few hours, the first man will walk on
the Moon. For the small town of Parkes, this event is also an adventure.
Their radio telescope, the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, is responsible
for tracking this historical space mission. The small staff at the
dish consists of Cliff and his colleagues who, although may not be
as well equipped as NASA nor have the same qualifications as their
American counterparts, become part of the historic event.

Based
on a true story, The Dish shows that behind every achievement, lies
not only technology but also men, women, dreams, will power and
a little bit of luck.
