This documentary examines the controversial life of Frank Hurley, a pioneer of documentary photography and film. This fascinating and frustrating man was a wonderful artist who witnessed many of the great dramatic events of the 20th century. Made famous by the Ernest Shackleton expedition, Frank Hurley captured images of a world at that time almost inaccessible: the Antarctic. This documentary tells the story of his expeditions, from the Antarctic to New Guinea, and exposes today’s controversy: experts have discovered that he was using special effects in his images. |
