Philippe Muyl

« As far as cinema is concerned, I am an autodidact. My filmography shows that I learnt from experience. It is by making films that I learn how to make films. I began with industrial films, I also made short films, and worked a short time for television, and in-between, there was my first feature film. Since 1992, I have been devoting myself to the cinema full-time. » In 1985, he directed a short film, « L’arbre sous la mer », with Christophe Malavoy and, in 1991, « Contre l’oubli ». In 1993, he adapted and directed « Cuisine et dépendances », with Jean-Pierre Bacri and Zabou. He then directed « Tout doit disparaître », with Didier Bourdon, in 1997, and « La vache et le président » in 2000. « Le papillon », with Michel Serrault, charmed over 1 million spectators. His latest feature, « Magique ! », with Marie Gillain and Cali, was released in 2008.
